“Limited lock around town makes it hard work, great on the open road, heavy and an awful riding position. The seat being over the exhaust gets very hot in Summer so, get uncomfortable.
There is, of course, the kudos of owning a Ducati, it gets the looks and the interest, so much so that when it wouldn't start, two builders helped me to bump start it!
Worth owning for the experience, something different and ultimately, for me anyway, a love hate relationship, remember that I'm in my middle 50's so, for a younger person, probably no worse that the average sports bike.”
“I don't look forward to trips in the City (London), it's a great bike to ride and gets the looks but, it can be a handful in heavy traffic, the underseat the exhaust tends to overheat your backside and the steering lock isn't too clever.
I love the bike but, would mostly choose my 125 supermotard for town work.
The Dicati is iconic and I feel great when I'm riding it, I am 52 so, probably not the best person to comment on its comfort! For what it is, it is a fantastic bike and I'm proud to own it, if I were 20 years younger I bet I would be raving about its ability and the sheer presence of it.
The build quality is fantastic, paint deep and sumptuous, quality parts abound, as I only spent £2,500 to buy it, I think it's a brilliant bargain, it was a CAT D insurance job and needed no more than £300 to get it back to a very presentable condition, parts can be expensive but - this is no ordinary bike.
All in all, a wonderful bike, thoroughly recommend it for those summer days when you need a blast with your mates.”
