“The Aprilia RS125 (1999-2005) is a thoroughbred race bike and must be maintained like one. Expensive parts and oils will always be putting a hole in your wallet but that is a small price to pay for the performance that this bike delivers
They're many stories stating that these bikes are unreliable, however over years of riding and maintaining these bikes 95% of the problems that have arose are due to neglect or lack of knowledge.
As they're a 125 they are desirable to young / new riders that skimp on oils and parts which will greatly reduce the efficiency and lifespan of this bike.
They're poor on fuel economy but this is expected for a 2 stroke. However what they lack in economy they more than make up for in pure excitement.
The Aprilia RS125 is the best bike I have ever owned & ridden.”
“If your looking for the fastest 125cc about then look no further. But if your looking for a mode of transport look elseware. The RS is an amazing racing machine. The handling is like no other ive ever ridden, But you really need to rag its guts to get it moving.
To summerise; if you have your heart set on one of these, i can see why. But unless you have the time, cash and a different mode of transport. Keep away. You'll thank me.”
