“Amazing bike if you're willing to continually throw money at it, breaks a lot but is so much fun for a 50CC, this is the best 50CC, but it will break, and cost you a lot of money.”
“The Aprilia RS 50 is the perfect choice for a youngster who wants to look like a MotoGP star. The 1999 - 2006 model is a comfortable and quite relaxed ride, no matter if you're small or tall. The bike is also very relaxed in the corners which allows you to make small adjustments weather you're sliding your knee or just cruising along, it's very impressive. Although it looks like a teenagers dream, it does come with it's problems, for example the bike has no fuel gage which makes it a gamble to ride if you're running low. It's also quite hard to clean as the fairing is fixed and covers a large ammount of the engine and gearbox. The suspension is a good package but is very weak over speed bumps and pot holes making it just a little too easy to burst the oil seals. These problems may seem to be quite large but if you dedicate a little bit of time at the end of the week to go over the bike and look after it, it doesn't have a single fault. The bikes brakes are extremely good, running a hydraulic disk brake on both the front and rear. For a 50cc bike it has quite a good little powerband and if it becomes a little too much, you have the immense stopping power from those brakes!
Overall the Aprilia RS 50 is a great little moped, Italian looks and Japanese speed, it's the perfect bike for a MotoGP lover. For a new rider insurance may be a tad pricey but overall it is a brilliant bike!”
