“I was not expecting anything less after a long wait for my desk. Self installation is straight forward. Mildly challenging with the installation especially with the PC bracket mount which comes with wood screws which needed precision drilling in order not to have a angled screws. Cable management bar is a must to keep the wires neat and it can take in a power bar to accommodate in my case 3 monitors.”
“I was impressed by the packaging as it shows how much care is taken to ensure the product is not damaged. Installation instructions are simple enough to follow although I wished the diagrams and fonts are larger; considering the size of the box it came in i'm sure they could effort to have a larger manual.
I fumbled a bit while installing as this issue of cable management which needs to be thought of first since if you follow the instruction manual step by step, you will notice that there might be other ways in which the cables can be hidden to make it look more sleek. That being said, i have to unscrew some components and refit the wires back to make it look more sleek.
Another issue i faced is that i noticed that the wood screws actually screw into a plastic base of sorts, and when i unscrew the screw, the whole plastic holder came out with it. It seems to suggest that this is meant to be screwed in once. I have to reconsider having an CPU Chassis under-mount if it uses these type of screws as i'm afraid it might come loose.
Also, u have to be careful when screwing in the screws and to see if the length of the screw is not longer than the thickness of your table in case you screw in too much and it protrudes out on the surface of your desk,
Some screws even though i screw in all the way doesn't secure some of the components. I had to use my own washers to ensure a tight and secure fit. OmniDesk guys, please include in about 4 or 8 metal/plastic washers so that future customers can use them optionally if they find their screws are not securing the components enough.
Also, i realised that the opening where the monitor arms base is fixed to has a cover. This is a loose piece. You can actually place the cover back and arrange it in such a way where the wires can come out of the gaps. Issue is, since there's no magnet or clip or some way to secure the cover to its base, the wires occasionally cause the cover to dislodge. So OmniDesk guys, maybe you can consider thinking of a way to secure the cover while allowing the wires to still protrude out of the gaps.
I've been using the desk for a few weeks now and no complaints whatsoever. It just works.”
