“This has been a highly regrettable purchase. For an extremely expensive product, that has been marketed as being top of the line of your desk offerings, the quality of the Ame (Ichi collection) is simply abysmal.
The wood surface has not been properly treated/finished, especially in a manner that would stand up to normal usage over time. The coating is subpar and is peeling at every single opportunity. The slightest movement of items across the desk causes damage to the coating, resulting in unsightly white marks. Even surfaces that remain untouched (e.g., edges) have visibly peeling coating. Additionally, the wood is so soft, that it can’t even withstand the weight of a plastic document drawer – within a day of set up, there are already visible dents in the wood. It is obvious that this desk, and the finishing that is applied to this wood, is not robust enough to withstand careful usage. I’ve had solid wood furniture before, and never have I encountered a wood product of such poor quality.
Most disappointing was that I had done my due diligence prior to making this purchase. I had visited your Funan and Suntec showrooms multiple times over April, spoken to multiple salespersons, and had enquired about the various types of wood that I could choose from, including from the Ame collection. However, at no point did any of your salespersons raise the possibility of any of the above issues occuring to me. This shows a complete apathy and disregard for the customer’s experience and a focus on only making the sale.
I had expected much better, but instead find myself sorely disappointed with my purchase. I would give zero stars if possible, and would certainly not recommend an Omnidesk to anyone.”
