“My intent was to upgrade from Windows 2008 R2, in-place and/or create a VM, all limited by H/W costs limitations. Considered going with Windows 2016 Essentials (which I have installed as a 'clean' VM) but decided that path - I need RDP control via the network - Windows 2016 Essentials doesn't offer that as a Feature or Function. So, after some research, decided on Windows Server 2019 Standard as the upgrade path. First did a clean VM installation of Windows Server 2019 Standard to get a feel of its GUI and check out it's limitations, from my POV. Haven't done a clean installation from the physical H/W side, nor an actual upgrade of a physical machine, yet. Have to decide which I'm willing to risk at this point. So, currently in the midst of doing critical Backups. But I'm optimistic at this point. Should note, none of the systems are Brand Names. Old fashion 'White Boxes', so customised systems. Oh! Yes, i'm satisfied with The Software Kings service!”
