“Very impressed. I have another Close-Up complete from a few years ago, so I kind of knew what to expect, but even then I was left impressed with this new one.
The deck shape wasn't perfect, I had to sand the nose down, but that's the only modifying I did and everything else feels great. The trucks are especially impressive, they open up well for loose tuning, and the kingpins don't drag! The trucks that came with my last Close-Up complete became Tech Deck fodder since those had kingpins that would drag, but these stay nice and tucked under the hanger so they don't scratch up your obstacles too bad.
The wheels are on the small side, and they're plastic, but the shapes are perfect and the bearings are good so zero complaints here. They roll well and they're smooth. The text printed on the wheels is sticking around a lot longer than it did from my previous complete, the text on those rubbed off almost immediately but these seem so far so good.
The engraved grip tape it came with didn't completely cover the deck since it's a wider shape, but I just used some of what I had and it covered it fine. The deck itself feels great, my favorite thing about this brand is how light their decks are and this didn't disappoint. It floats when you pop it, which is impressive for a board this shape.
My previous close-up complete, despite its flaws, became a serious main of mine for a while, and I'm even more impressed with this one, can't wait to continue shredding it. High quality all around, in love with it.”
