“The part arrived packed in a sealed plastic bag with a RAM sticker showing product details etc.
After opening the bag how I was surprised with clearly noticeable unsightly clamping marks on the aluminum portion of the clamp - as if the part was unprofessionally held with multi grips pliers or a vice for some reason? Refer photos attached.
There is no way to explain the marks - if someone is going to tell me the marks are the result of the manufacturing process I will never accept that. Lathe chuck jaws would not (should not) leave marks like that. This is a relatively simple part to manufacture consisting a turned aluminum sleeve overmoulded with a rubber compound ball. For 26 dollars the part should look better than this. Please respond to me with your findings.
