“I bought this chain riveting tool, as it was mid-priced - I thought that would avoid the real junk. Sadly, I am very disappointed in the quality of the tool. Although the item looks to be very solid and made of reasonable quality materials, I'm afraid the machining is extremely poor. The internal thread in the main body of the breaker has been cut so far off line that the thread is barely even visible on one side of the hole. Of course, this means that the main bolt is off line and so the pushing pin is not centred in the hole at the bottom of the breaker body. It also means that the thread will be very weak. On top of this, two of the pushing pins are so far off true that they jam solid in the hollow bolt. One of the guide nuts is not threaded square and so it directs the pushing pin off at an angle, instead of straight.
I did not bother to waste my time taking photos in order to justify my complaint as was requested by customer service - not worth the time and effort. Suggest that ThirdGear improve their quality control and inspect tools before sending rubbish out to customers.”
