“I love this castor oil - I have tried several brands, and this is the one I will never run out of. The consistency is easy to work with. The other ingredients enhance the power of the castor oil. I use a nightly pack over the liver and belly button fir detox and some of what I've noticed is: I am sleeping better, constipation is gone (a biggie for me), and I am more relaxed. I also rub it on the bottom of my feet and they are softer. I rub it into both knees - and they are less painful. I really love the slight fragrance of frankinsense. Great formula. I gave it 4 stars just because I always pour too much in my hands. Would be great if there was some way to keep the packaging clean but also allow for more controlled dispensing.”

My heavy night routines stopped working, so I changed it up.
This formula is a 5/5 for me. The ingredient list is short and intentional, and you can feel how everything works together — grounding, calming, supportive, without trying to do too much. Magnesium plays a role in helping my body settle at night, but it’s really the balance of the entire formula that stands out. My skin looks calmer and more rested by morning, and nothing feels overdone. This is the first oil I’ve used where I didn’t feel the need to add anything else.
A quick note on application: it’s intentionally old-world. Heavy glass, cork-style top, and you pour a small amount into your hand. It’s simple, almost ritualistic, and clearly designed to protect the integrity of the formula rather than prioritize convenience. Once you get used to it, it makes sense — and a little truly goes a long way.
Yes, it’s an investment. But because it actually works and you don’t need much, it’s one of those rare products where the value shows up night after night. You can feel the intention behind it. This doesn’t feel mass-produced — it feels made. I really like what Shae created here with Third Layer. I’ve never left a review like this people—I am passionate about skincare-especially at 45.
