I researched more than 40 paddleboards before deciding on the Thurso Surf brand. Said simply, this company delivers the highest quality equipment for very good prices. With sales, these boards seem like a steal, to me; and I've put in over 100 hours of research. I'd highly recommend Thurso Surf paddleboard products! When I had issues and concerns with my 2023 Waterwalker, the team had the BEST customer service I have experienced. They helped me get a new pump, replacement clips for the board bag (one broke), and even sent me an old style (2021-2022) bag when I felt disappointed initially with the new one. Now, I like the new bag better than the old one, and see how it is an improvement--though less backpackable. Changes to 2023 Waterwalker boards from past years: Notably, these boards used to be noted to be the stiffest on the market, with hardly any deformation with drops and less bending when placed across a gap. Now, they are similar to other boards on the market. I pump my 2023 board up to 20 psi, where I pump my 2021 board to 15 psi; this results in a similar feel. Both boards disperse energy exceptionally well--no trampoline like effect. They both cut through waves. The 2023 just needs higher psi. Why? Thurso Surf used different construction and less glue, significantly lightening the board in comparison. I feel the difference in weight when carrying my 2021 Waterwalker (heavier) and 2023 Waterwalker (markedly lighter--4 or 5 lbs). The new 2023 Waterwalker 132 feels narrower when I'm riding it--the lines and cut of the board are more efficient for paddling, and I feel I go faster. However, it does feel less comfortable for putting 2 adults or a lot of moving kids on it. The fins hook to the board differently, and are flexible--which I like. I felt comfortable going in a river with fin catches much more on my 2023 Waterwalker than my 2021 Waterwalker (which has hard plastic fins). The new 2023 still handles very well. The new center fin takes a bit more effort to put in and take out, but this can be adjusted for harder-easier difficulty. Overall, installing the fins take similar amounts of time to install on the 2021 and 2023 boards. It's still a breeze. - The Thurso surf carbon paddle is exceptional. Light, durable, and my favorite paddle in a board bundle anywhere near this cost. - The Thurso Surf hand pump (which is no longer included in a board bundle) is the best I've seen in Idaho at the lakes around the area. Instead, the board comes with a new electric pump with battery; that's amazing. It is easier than ever to fill up one board to 20 psi, and faster than I can hand pump (I'm a fit male 35 year old that works out a significant amount). It is a huge help when filling up 2 boards: I do one by hand, and let the electric pump inflate the other. - While the D-rings on the new 2023 Waterwalker are smaller than past versions, that's the only change in potential quality I've noticed that might be considered negative. - Eliminating white deck (prior year models) is brilliant, and the blue 2023 Waterwalker is a gorgeous board for the aesthetics, yet also easier to keep clean due to this change. - The board bag is a different fabric--more expensive, long-lasting, and durable per the company--with less straps to secure contents; however, it has more space (helpful given electric pump), dries faster, and seems overall still high quality. The rollers on the bag are fantastic.

Update- the electric pump broke after three uses. The button are stuck in the depressed position. I’m on vacation in a remote area and I have no other way to inflate it. So sad I can’t use my board at all. Previous- I love this board! Easy to inflate, very stable. My only complaint is that the neoprene handle takes forever to completely dry, adding a lot of time before I can pack the board away.
