“This is my seventh paddleboard and my second Thurso board. I purchased this one specifically for the East coast.
Pros: On calm waters, this thing flies compared to other inflatables. It’s also light, firm (at 16 PSI) and somewhat short enough to catch some waves if you want to try a bit of surf. It’s definitely NOT a surf board, just saying that I found it quite responsive to waves and didn’t overly bend in waves compared to other inflatables. The included 3-piece paddle is also above average compared to other kits, it is light and firm, although the paddle itself is made of heavy plastic when compared to the shaft.
Cons: Slightly more unstable than other boards I’ve tried. Also, nothing beats a hard board in terms of speed and stability, regardless of the shape or size. In the ocean, this board reacts to every eddy and wave, making it more of a challenge to stabilize.
For the sale price, this is an excellent all-around board and I love the rechargeable battery pump they include. I also have great experiences with Thurso customer service and they’re very responsible and helpful.”
