These have been a small revelation. When purchasing these chisel guards, I didn't even consider using them for anything other than my WoodRiver Socket Chisels, but you can and that is what they're meant for really - essentially all chisels (size permitting) and why not! Chisel edge guards are something I have taken for granted; a minor accessory that I didn't even think about actually. I realize I was wrong on that. They serve a very important triple purpose: protecting your expensive chisel edge, your priceless unbroken skin and your wallet! These guards are very practical, functional, reliable and easy/quick to add or take off of a chisel safely. The guards won't fall off accidentally either - not at all! Placing a guard over a chisel edge is not risky, because your fingers squeeze the guard open from the sides, where your fingers are out of the way of the sharp chisel edge. If you drop a chisel on concrete with one of these guards attached, your chisel will be fine; the padding is overkill. I haven't tried dropping any of my chisels to see what happens, but I won't be freaking out, if I ever find myself watching my protected tool fall to the floor. This is a versatile investment worth having and I recommend getting a few sets (of 10) to cover your entire chisel collection. Edit: Also; red protects your chisels faster! I don't know exactly how this could possibly work, but I'm just going to put this idea out there anyway!
