“My first attempt turning wood or acrylic barrels on a mandrel required very fine pressure on the chisel. Higher pressure caused the chisel to dig in and stop the work spinning, resulting in breakage away from brass tube.
The pen sets were a first attempt and also initial use of carbide chisel inserts.
I did not have much difficulty and reccommend to anybody new to turning to try , but have several backups on hand.”
