Antique Salt & Pepper Mills Available in Metal or Ceramic Grinder Have you ever wanted to turn a traditional salt or pepper mill but felt unsure about the process? Now you can, with our Antique Hand Crank Grinder Kit a simple and rewarding project for any woodturner. Designed to pair with any 3" x 3" wood blank (cut to your preferred length), simply drill a 1"-diameter hole through the center to allow the contents to pass through. Mount the blank between centers using a jamb chuck, turn your desired profile, sand, finish, and attach the grinding mechanism to complete your custom mill. Two Grinding Mechanism Options: Metal Grinder (Carbon Steel) Ideal for pepper only . Traditional grinding performance with a classic bronze finish. Ceramic Grinder Suitable for both salt or pepper . Corrosion-resistant with the same antique appearance. Features: Grinder mechanism measures 2" diameter 4-3/8" tall Antique bronze finish Cast metal body for smooth operation Adjustable finial for coarse to fine grind Please note: Timber is not included. This is a turning kit machining and finishing are required. You will need to supply your own timber and turn it on a lathe.

Looks good, but feels top heavy in the hand - but maybe because I am used to using the normal twist mills. The twist mills are usually held more towards horizontal whereas this one is held vertically (or is that just me). Will know more after Christmas when it gets filled with pepper and gets a good workout.
