“Excellent finish, top level finish, these materials cuts far better on lathe using the negative carbide cutting tools; rarely catches. Top level cutting finish tips have a extremely long cutting life. i have machined over thirty blanks and there is no sign of wear. I have found the tool cuts better when it is hot. if you can feel warm in handle about a inch along shaft that is the perfect cutting temperature.”
“This range of blanks are a little bit more expensive, but the colour range and patterns of these blanks is superb.
Can be tricky to drill and turn as they are brittle, but the results are brilliant. I drill these whilst lubricating with water to keep them cool.
I turn them using TCT tools. Finish is stunning
