“CBN wheel works great even at Tormek speeds. A few issues nothing major and none TImberbits', who were great throughout the purchase.
Minor issue:
-The bore hole on the required bush and washer (separate item) was rough and didn't fit the Tormek spindle. It needed a quick clean up and it fit perfectly. Given this was a custom bush I am gonna guess they didn't do a finishing pass on the bore hole after roughing it to size.
Minor quibbles:
-The wheel fit a bit too close to the machine and the bush didn't reach the thread on the spindle. Again, as a unintended application these things happen, and another easy fix, a 10-15mm spacer did the job.
-Interestingly the 360 grit wheel hit a resonant frequency on the Tormek making the grinding rather loud on the inside edge.
All in all a great wheel at a decent price and thanks to Darren for helping me get the particulars sorted. And please do pass on my feedback to Vicmark.”
“VL300 is among the best wood lathes of not the top one. I needed an extra Camlock assembly (banjo), so I mount 500mm extension on the Headstock side and run outboard turning for bowl production. Works incredibly well, just have to run the lathe in reverse for outboard.
Camlock came within two weeks onto the USA, well packaged, no damages, no tariffs as of July 2025.”
