The Fronthoe Excavator Attachment is ideal for farming, construction, landscaping, and agriculture. This attachment is designed with a universal skid steer mounting plate that allows you to use this attachment with a wide variety of skid steer and tractor loaders. The substantial boom style arm features a 6,000 PSI cylinder, greaseable pins, and bushings, and comes equipped with hoses and flat-faced couplers. The fixed, single-arm implement reaches 6 FT deep from the mounting plate and includes the option for your choice in Hydraulic Tilt Bucket size that is controlled inside the cab.

UPDATED VERSION: The Fronthoe now comes with a higher-strength steel frame, greaseable pins, and a fresh powder-coat update in Titan Charcoal/Orange.

“I use this with my old 843 Bobcat. It works great and fits great, but make sure you consider a few things when using it on older skidsteers. One, if you are putting it on an older Bobcat like mine, go ahead and order an extra set of the flat face couplings so you can convert your old Pioneer Style to new flat face style. In my case I needed to change the bulkhead JIC fittings to a 10-08 JIC to NPT so that the new flat faced connectors didn't stick way out in a precarious way (you would have to use a reducing adapter to fit them straight to the OEM Bobcat JIC connectors, which are 7/8"-14 thread otherwise known as -10). I tracked down the needed bulkhead fittings at Universal Hose and Fitting, https://www.universalhoseandfittings.com/product_p/mj-mp-bulkhead-adapter.htm. Part numbers is 2706-10-08. Second BIG thing to keep in mind, this attachment put quite a load on the tilt cylinder when you have the arms lifted high and bobtach tilt cylinder fully extended (which is the way you will want to dig because you can see what you are doing best like that). I learned this the hard way. Make sure you are not using the cheap chinese tilt cylinder pins off ebay or amazon, they are not up to the task, make sure you get an OEM Bobcat tilt cylinder pin ($92 vs $20). Its a hard pill to swallow but worth it. I sheared two of the cheap chinese ones, and I also bent and sheared a chinese tilt cylinder that I used after I destroyed the connections on my OEM cylinder after one of the cheap chinese pins sheared in two places, ripping the mounting ear off the left side of the lifting arm upper mount. Long story short, keep the front hoe arm as flat as possible to the lifting arms to reduce the moment forces on the tilt cylinder assembly and you will be fine.”

“I bought this front hoe about a year ago and wanted to wait until I had used it to write a review. I have used it for some trenching, and it works well for that, but I use it much more as a long arm grapple for moving things like large rocks, log length firewood, brush piles, etc. IÃ¢â‚¬™ve put it through its paces, and have been very pleased with its performance on every job. It was pretty easy to put together when it arrived, but one of the threaded holes in the frame was not tapped very well, so the bolt and pin retainer worked their way out. I welded a washer on the grease fitting end of the pin and put an R clip through the retainer hole to keep the pin in place. Several other retainer pins have bent, but the bolts are still in place, so the retaining pins are remaining functional for the time being. Changing out straight pins for pins with heads would be a wise upgrade to future designs. The thumb is adequately heavy duty for the build of the hoe, but I managed to bend the positioning pin slightly while mo”

“I used this to dig a trench 275 ft long for water. I took in down 5 ft with no major issues. The biggest problem I have is the retainers to hold the pins in. they are bending and I have to keep an eye on them so they will not break. Other than that a good buy”

“I just received the Fronthoe and it fit perfectly on our John Deere 240 skid steer. I was able to dig a 48x60 in hole (5 feet deep) in a little over 20 minutes. It works perfectly and would highly recommend.”
