Move large hay bales without having to change out your front loader bucket. This hay spear frame attaches to your front bucket and uses the underside for leverage. Simply slide the universal mount over your bucket’s cutting edge and tighten the chain with the included rachet binder for easy installation, then loosen the chain to remove the hay frame when the work is done. Equipped with one main Conus 2 hay spear sleeve and two stabilizer spear sleeves welded to the frame, this attachment makes quick work of moving large round hay bales when feeding livestock or managing hay storage. Weighing in at 136 LB and rated at a 3,000 LB capacity, this hale spear frame allows you to tackle even the toughest jobs and has a powder-coated exterior for added rust resistance.

“I was impressed with the weight and strength of this bale spear. The entire assembly weighs about 85 pounds, and it comes with a really nice chain and ratchet binder which can be used for lots of other things too. Once you get used to it, this can be installed in about 3 minutes. I put it on a John Deere 4044M to move 4 x 5ft round bales, which are about 800 pounds each or so. Be careful, though: between the round bale and this attachment, you're hanging about 900 pounds of weight which is centered 2 feet IN FRONT of your bucket, not IN the bucket. For my tractor, that's the equivalent of about 2,100 lbs of additional front axle weight, and it cantilevers about 1,200 lbs off the rear axle. If you don't have at least 600-800 lbs of rear ballast, you're going to lift your rear tires off the ground and be in trouble real quick. I have a 650 lb brush hog which balances the weight pretty well.”

“The spear bent right over even I picked up the first bale. I emailed them and got a reply but no satisfaction so far. The spear is not strong enough.”
