“I like the sturdy construction of this spreader. The height of the handle and the inflatable tires makes it very easy to push and control. My one disappointment is the lever with 4 settings as mentioned in the previous review. The lever starts at 1/2 inch increments making the dispensing gate opening too large for lawn fertilizer. I honestly believe this spreader was designed for winter salt. As an Mechanical Engineer, I did modify the lever to open at 1/8 inch increments and works ok now. With modification this spreader dispenses a 5 ft. wide pattern of fertilizer evenly. Maybe I will order another style lever from the 50 lb model.”

“This is a good quality spreader. The handle and wheels are professional grade. However I honestly believe this model is meant for winter salt and not suited as summer lawn broadcast spreader. The 4 position notch lever opens at half inch increments. In other words this machine will dispense too much fertilizer even at the lowest setting. Being a mechanical Engineer I did modify the lever to open at 1/8 inch increments. With the lever modified, this spreader broadcasts milorganite and fertilizers evenly at a 5 ft wide cast. Overall it is a good broadcast spreader but the lever included is designed for spreading salt.”
