3 Point Ballast Box Fits Category 1 Tractors Black Reviews

4.5 Rating 164 Reviews
Read Titan Attachments Reviews

An effective way to protect your tractor from tipping over is through a Ballast Box. This 3 Point attachment is compatible with Category 1 tractors and will preserve the integrity of your tractor’s front axle through weighted implements. It improves traction by balancing and shifting the weight from your equipment’s weaker front end to its more solid rear end. This Ballast Box has been engineered to hold up to 800 LB so that you can fill it up with concrete, sand, steel, gravel, or rocks. It has a sliding front door that quickly empties the box and reduces weight when needed. You can also use the ballast box for tool storage. Easy to install, built from durable material with a powder-coat finish, and ready to help you tackle heavy tasks around the home or field work.

Unfuntionity I made the mistake of trying to go cheap the first time around and brought one from china (Amazon). It came damaged and missing essential parts and unusable, the upside was I was able to put them side by side and see the difference between the two, china and USA (Titan). Both listed the capacity and weight empty. china was about one-third less weight empty and a little smaller overall but listed it was still able to hold 800 lbs. The Titon ballast box had substantially heavier steel being used and explains the lack of damage to the Titon box, as the shipping container (cardboard) was in bad shape upon delivery. I used concrete to fill my box (Titon) and was able to get 8 (60 lb. bags) to fill it up to the bottom of the top framing which came out to be approximately 600 lbs. overall weight (adding together the empty ballast box and the concrete). Would I recommend the Titon Ballast Box, Yes I would.

I have never been bothered so much by a company to get some praise for there product. I started getting this stupid request before the ballast box even arrived and I still haven't used it so I dont know anything yet.

Overall looked OK but was disappointed that the 3 point lower arm attachment points were bent in still trying to figure out how to get them bent back. Given how hard it is to bend them back I am surprised at how far they are bent. I don't if its a manufacturing issue or if its a result of the shipping/handling but it not fixed yet.

The Titan ballast box has some features I didn't at first think were necessary. But the small door, the tool tubes, and the ability to use pallet forks are a nice addition. Filled my ballast box with gravel and so far it has worked quite well. The paint job is unfortunately very poor and it doesn't appear any primer was used since rust has appeared. Despite some of the finish details not being of a high quality, the box works as intended.
