“We have this splitter on a Cat 226 skid steer. It's a good match with good hydraulics for great cycle time and amazing splitting force. Knots don't slow it down a bit and the 4 way split blade speeds things up. The paint, welds and heavy framing is impressive and should last a very long time. The hinge to vertical is a nice feature for large logs and the auto detent on the hydraulic block frees one to get the next log as the cylinder cycles. We did have a defective hose that failed, but Titan covered our replacing it from a local source quickly. New hoses go bad once in a great while, but great backup on a warranty issue seems to be even more rare. I couldn't be happier with Titan's support.”
“Overall good value! Like other reviews mentioned, I had to swap the hydraulic lines or the splitter control was reversed. Also, after about 2 full chords, the 10 bolts holding the splitter head worked loose causing a lot of play in the 4 way head, which resulted in the wings on the 4 way head to bend upward. I found that it works best around 1700 RPM on my Bobcat.”
“Wood splitter arrived in a convenient metal cage "pallet." I have split 6-cords so far. I had to disable my seat safety switch on the skid steer. This allowed me to run the splitter by myself. The "+" design of the splitter head nearly doubled the production of standard head splitters. Very well built, sturdy piece of machinery. I did have to swap my hydraulic lines or the splitter control was reversed. One hydraulic fitting leaks slightly. Just could not stop the minor leak no matter what I tried. Absolutely recommend this splitter - it's a BEAST! Not even 36" diameter gnarly and knotty logs slowed this machine down. I run the splitter with a Cat 246C skid steer.”
