Who or what ever welded this thing did a poor job. Make sure you have metal files long enough to go inside the tubes. Alot of burn through that left bumps and sharp edges. It's a great idea, poor execution.

Deer hoist worked great the only thing I would change is adding a piece of either steel mesh or another piece of flat steel to the carrier for transporting deer..... I found even an average sized doe (north carolina), can fall through the gap on between the carrier when folded horizontally.... Was able to strap deer down with ratchey strap enough to be able to use but I will weld a piece in there to address this one design flaw..... Other than that the houst works great.

hardware is cheap and bolts stripped out when tightening. The strap is already fraying from one use of lifting a small deer. The strap is not long enough to reach the ground to strap deer to lift. Could have built one cheaper with heavier-duty materials. Poor presentation of the unit in front of the hunting party.

Received on time and in good condition, assembly was straightforward. Attached to our CanAm UTV and experimented with it in the garage after assembly and found that the winch strap did not reach to the ground when raised into the full vertical position. I changed the winch strap out with an old winch strap from our boat that I had replaced last summer. It now is plenty long to reach the ground. Used it for the first time last week. Worked great as I was able to back up to where the deer was laying, changed it to vertical, fully extended, put the leg spreader into the hind legs and raised the deer completely off the ground. made field dressing a snap! Laid it back down on the cradle, compressed the hoist so it wouldn't stick out past the sides of our UTV and drove it home. Recommendation would be to lengthen the winch strap and add a leg spreader bar to this hoist assembly.
