I bought this bra to support my remaining side after having a left-side mastectomy (4 weeks ago.) I was able to start using it in some circumstances about 2 weeks out from surgery, after getting the drain removed. I am grateful to Tomboy for making something for us one-breasters, but I agree with other reviewers that this needs some improvement to really be useful. I am not always interested in dealing with a prosthesis and would be happy to go out one-sided, if my remaining side could have secure support. I'm about to have at it with my sewing machine to see which of the following issues I can fix. Good: it is comfy except for the fastener issue below, and cool in the hot weather. If it would stay fastened, I'd wear it a lot. Issues: - It's basically a one-sided halter top, so there is coverage but not much in the way of support for a larger breast (D cup). It gaps along the inside of the "cup". - The fastener hits right at the bottom of my rib cage. This is partly what makes it comfy because it is not anywhere near either the mastectomy scar or the drain scar. I like that the band is lower than a regular bra. However, that means that the fastener is also where I bend and move a lot. The strap wants to flip over, and when it does, the fastener digs in. Then without warning, the fastener just works its way out and the thing pops off. Because of that, I don't feel comfortable wearing it out of the house. I'd prefer to have the fastener in the back, where it wouldn't be knocked loose by sitting or doing things that involve bending. I'd be fine pulling it over my head already fastened, like other Tomboy bras. - I wish the shoulder strap was adjustable, it slips off.
