“I bought the Black Rainbow version of this last year in 6X and it ran big - the strings are really just for show on them, they do not tighten the waist. So I bought two pairs this year, Don't Be Jelly and Under The Surface, in a size 5X, thinking the waist would be perfect. However, the construction and fit of these are different. The waist sits lower and is smaller. The strings do adjust the size but I can't seem to adjust them and get the gusset to lay flat. Unfortunately, I do not have enough time to return them for a larger size. Sigh.”
“Was so, so excited to get these only to discover the fit was all off. :( I have a pear shape so my hips are much (much) bigger than my waist, and apparently these shorts were not cut for that kind of fit. I suppose they would be considered mid-rise, as I had a good two inches of behind showing, even with the drawstring pulled all the way. Such a shame, especially as these are described as "fit tested for all body types."”

“I LOVE TOMBOYX SWIMWEAR!! I had tomboyx swim set about 2 years ago and it totally would’ve still held up for this year but wasn’t able to find it since I’ve moved around a bit. So worth the lil extra $. No more sports bra paired with walmart mens section 10” inseam trunks. If you’re on the lower end of a size range: size down! I’m a 30 waist and wear medium in tomboyx underwear so I ordered a medium in these as well but they were just too big. The exchange process for a small was super simple though.

“Been wearing board shorts for years, before they were made of stretch fabric. Ordered these puppies and WOW! they fit perfectly and look supreme. Inside liner feels so comfortable. The stretch fabric coupled with the stretch inside liner is a match beyond any board short I've every tried. I know that I'll be living in these in a couple of weeks while in Cabo. Only wish they brought back the matching raimbow top this year. for reference, 148, 5'3" and the medium was perfect.”
