“Really wanted to love these. Love my tomboyX bras and underwear, but was wary on swimwear. I have been looking for something that would lessen my thigh chafing and not roll. If you have big thighs and are fat in the hips/lower belly, keep looking elsewhere. Leg openings are wayyy too small and the length is awkward. 4.5 inches is just not enough length and the longer shorts are almost to the knee and not cute on me. Wish there was some length in between so that I could swim and walk comfortably. They are fine enough standing still & first putting them on, but as soon as I take one step - they roll and pinch at the bottom in the middle but not on the sides. This leaves me looking like I have it stuck up in my crotch in V formation - which chafes MORE than if I would have worn a bikini bottom. I have short legs, but a long torso, so the “high waist” aspect doesn’t really read on me and hits an awkward half inch below my belly button, not over it. This causes it to roll not only on the bottom, but also on the top if I go to sit down - making me do constant adjusting. I bought the same size as my underwear, which a tomboyX representative told me would fit well, but that isn’t true for me. Should have known better, but can’t afford to always be buying 2 sizes of things all the time only to send one back. Next size up isn’t even in stock anymore so I guess I’ll never know. Or maybe my body is just built wrong for this style of swim shorts and I keep trying to make them desperately work & should stop, idk. 2 stars are purely for the print & whoever illustrated this - it’s super cute and very well done. Was excited to wear it for Summers to come, sad that I won’t be able to. Just another item of clothing that I spent money on for me to gift to a thinner friend :/”

“I love the fit of these! The waist just falls at the perfect spot for me and the length is short enough to be cute and long enough to be comfortable and cover everything (I mean come on, who wants to shave every day during summer?!). It also looks very proportional with the racerback top imo - I have a set of 9" swim shorts with a matching top as well and though incredibly comfortable the combination looks a bit too sporty for my preference, while this new set just looks more playful and suits my body and personality a little better I think. I was a bit disappointed with the colours though! Somehow the images gave me the impression that they were a bit more muted and that there were more red/pink/purple tones, which I immediately fell in love with, but in reality they're much brighter and more orange/bright blue/green. Not what I'd hoped for, but it's still a cool print, so I'm sure I'll enjoy wearing it nonetheless.”

I prefer the TOMBOY X elastic wasteband over the cased band in these shorts. The cased band doesnt stay in place as well as on the other TBX swim shorts I have.”
