“Trying to leave my second negative review about this unisuit. I hope it posts this time. After having to send two of these back for being way too small--both 2x and 3x--I ordered the 4x. No problem getting it on, and swimming in it was fantastic.
Getting it off? I almost had to be cut out of the thing! The nape around the neck has no stretchability whatsoever, so if you are attempting to get this suit off, good luck. I had to get my wife to assist me in getting it off my shoulders, etc.
My usual size is 2x. I can't believe I had to order a 4x and still can't get the suit off after swimming!
This should never be an issue, especially for a suit that costs this much money. Sorry. The material is not durable in and around the neck and shoulder area, making this suit a nightmare to remove. I'm now stuck with this suit.
FYI--order a bigger size than you normally think you would wear.”
“Not designed for AMAB bodies. Trans femme here, most of tomboyx suits don't fit me right in one aspect or others. Tried a couple now. Their customer service is great at returns though so feel free to try them but otherwise keep looking.”
“Sigh. I had to exchange the 3x to the 4x. Read my original review on this. Got the 4x. It was great putting it on, this time. It fit well, as it is supposed to be a little snug, but no issues getting it on. Getting it off? OMG.
I literally could NOT get this suit off, without my wife helping me. Again, this is a manufacturing and design flaw. There's actually no give in the material around the back and nape of this suit, no matter WHAT size this suit is!
Waste of good money. I've now worn it to swim in, once, but since I cannot get out of the suit, without assistance--top section only--what's the point? The suit is great when you have it on, but I'm tired of paying so much money for something that should fit and you should be able to easily get in and out of the suit, no matter what size you are.
Tomboy, please take notice of this huge design flaw and change things accordingly. Make the nape area, back area have more elasticity, etc., so you can get in and out of the suit, without killing yourself, or ripping the flimsy material. You charge way too much for these suits and they are not properly designed. Wast of money for me.
I'll continue purchasing other items from Tomboy, but no more on finding a one piece, unionsuit/swimsuit.”
“I agree with some other reviewers that this suit looks great but is really hard to get out of. I think if the zipper went a couple inches lower or the neck was stretchier it would be perfect, but as it is I need help getting it off of my shoulders. For me the top of the zipper also kind of pokes me in the neck, so I have to leave it slightly unzipped at the top.”
“I adore this unisuit! I wore it for the first time to a lake in the desert and was over the moon about having sun protection on my shoulders and chest. I was so glad to be covered up that day. I was with a friend who wore a tiny bikini and people were openly staring at her and I was relieved to have their eyes skip over me. I still felt cute! But my body parts weren’t being ogled. The suit is super comfortable and I didn’t need to wear a bathing suit bottom underneath it. It dried quickly. My frame is petite so I purchased a Small (4’11” 103 lbs), but I have endometriosis and my belly often swells so much I look 6 months pregnant. That was the case on the day I wore this suit and it accommodated my belly perfectly. I wish I could give it 10 stars!!”
“I was hesitant getting this, as I've gained a lot of weight, but I feel like it fits really well. I used the size chart and it was true to size. I was worried the sleeves and shorts would be too short but they were perfect lengths. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is because I wish there was more binding in the chest, but my chest isn't too big so I don't mind it too much.”
“This is the second time, I've tried to get a Unisuit with sleeves from TomboyX and it's the second time that it doesn't fit. Usually, I am a 2x in most clothes, etc. I ordered a 2x of a different Unisuit, last year, and I couldn't even get it around my chest and belly, and it was a nightmare trying to even get it on up top without help and without tearing the material.
Okay, I gave it to a friend, who could wear it. This year, I decided to try another Unisuit, but I decided that the 3x would surely fit property. Nope. I just tried it on, and it's as small and hard to even get on--the bottom part is fine to get on, but not the top.
A 3x??? And I can't even get it around my chest or stomach? What is the problem here? The material around the yoke of this Unisuit seems very flimsy, cheap, and has no give. whatsoever. Again, I can't even zip it up.
This is ridiculous, especially given the price of this suit. This time? I'm sending it back for a 4x, if possible, and if that doesn't work??? I'm done.”
“Gender euphoria in swimwear *does* exist!
The fit is true to size and it’s quite stretchy and comfortable for us mid-size folks. It looks even better on and offers some amount of compression of the chest based solely on the material but without being constricting.
So comfortable and the material seems durable and well made. I love the jellyfish design as well!
10/10, I have never ever felt so happy or comfortable looking at myself in swimwear and I am excited for once to go to the beach!
Thanks tomboy!”
