“We live in Eagle River, AK. It is a small partly community stuck between two rows of mountains out side of Anchorage. 4th of July fireworks really doesn’t work for us up here because it stay daylight out until after midnight. There are those that still to put on displays choosing a lot of noise rather than light displays. We, my friends and family save our fireworks for New Year eve when the ground is covered with snow and the threat of burning down the valley is minimal. It is really illegal without a permit and special insurance but no body bothers us that time of the year.”

What a wonderful email it is! See, I am lucky that no one in my Canadian family got hurt during the WW2, because they were never drafted. It was close though, cause my Dad was in training to get there. He was also in college, graduated and the War ended.
I was born in 1952, and my Dad taught me to always remember what our Seniors have done to save the World and Democracy. Well, there is quite a problem now with the Republicans not doing what it is required to save our children or anyone else from gun shots.
They sleep with the NRA who keep them on the job. That is all that counts for them while innocent babies, children, teenagers and even adults, seniors, racism against Blacks, Asians (my wife is one) and Latins (my son’s wife is one too) get wounded or killed..
I wish I were more positive but right now with this administration, no, things are going to get even very worse…
