“Overall, I'm satisfied with the TopLift Pro V2.0; however, improvements to the locking mechanism are desparately needed.
I nearly experienced a disaster during my first "lift." I had successfully removed the top, but unexpectedly, the lift "slipped" and nearly came crashing down onto my Jeep. Fortunately, I was holding on at the time and was able to slowly lower the top back into place.
I made the only adjustment I could to the locking mechanism and so far so good. However, I'm quite leery of simply lifting the top and rolling it back. Unlike what you may see in the advertisements, maintaining positive contact with a concentrated eye on the locking mechanism is STRONGLY advised. DO NOT rely on the locking mechanism staying engaged at all times. Even when store the top, I make sure it's supported by a cabinet in the event it slips while I'm out an about.
Strongly recommend they re-engineer the locking mechanism with a secondary lock to avoid slippage.”
