Teufelberger developed the first chainsaw lanyard providing a shock-absorber with a defined force absorption capacity. In the event that the chainsaw gets stuck in a branch to be cut, more than 2.0 - 2.2 kN (static) act on the lanyard and the tear-open strap will be activated. This reduces the dynamic force of the falling impact and the resulting force acting on the person to 1.5 - 1.8 kN. The strap is torn open until the falling impact has been absorbed, or ruptures completely after a fall of approximately 70 cm, and the tool and/or the chainsaw will drop to the ground. So this lanyard helps to prevent injuries, and if the fall of the chainsaw is not that severe, the chainsaw will be prevented from falling all the way. Do not use this product to belay persons or for lifting purposes as defined in the EU Directive 2006/42/EC.
