Description
Built for Clinics
The Boundex Cuddle Box is a steel frame wrapped in foam and several layers of lycra. The overall impact of the Boundex Cuddle Box lies in the exceptional sensory motor experience it offers a child. In simple terms, the following support-to-development is observed as the child moves on the apparatus:
Triggers the child's drive to explore and challenge gravity using the total body.
Elongation, activation, strengthening and grading core muscles of the body.
Develops strength and stability of the shoulders, arms and hands through grasp, weight bearing, and weight shifting.
Promotes 3 dimensional, refined movement of hands through expansion and gradation.
Develops strength and stability of the pelvis, knees and feet through weight bearing, expansion, weight shift, and gradation, which leads to 3 dimensional, refined movement.
Facilitates stability with mobility throughout the body (no fixing/holding or compensatory patterns)
Vestibular, somatosensory integration is promoted with each action for improving balance and coordination.
Increases depth and variability of respiration/encourages vocalization.
The child's movement actively facilitates integration of primitive reflexes allowing the emergence of 3 dimensional motor patterns.
The child's movements develop controlled gradation of multiple muscle synergies, i.e. top/bottom, left/right, front/back, diagonal/rotational.

FAQs
Is the Boundex Cuddle Box mobile? Can it store away?
Absolutely! The Boundex Cuddle Box was designed with parents and traveling therapists in mind. The frame quickly breaks down to fit nicely in the back of your car for easy transport or in your closet when not in use. It also includes a convenient storage/transport bag.
What is the weight limit for the Boundex Cuddle Box?
The Boundex Cuddle Box, designed by Eileen Richter, was originally created as the "Baby Boundex" for clinical settings, supporting children weighing 20–40 lbs. Smaller, younger children have more opportunities for movement when using the Boundex Cuddle Box, increasing the benefits of the product. Through ongoing design enhancements, it now safely accommodates individuals up to 100 lbs. The Lycra’s stretchy, responsive fabric offers a dynamic way to challenge core strength, balance, and sensory feedback. Users over 40 lbs can enjoy gentle, soothing movement within the supportive material; we recommend adding a Teddy Bear Mat or other landing mat beneath the Boundex Cuddle Box. A good rule of thumb is, if the child can climb out of the product or sinks to the ground the product is no longer therapeutic.
How do I clean the lycra?
To clean, machine wash and hang dry the lycra.
Do you offer replacement or spare sets of Lycra?
Yes, you can purchase a set of the three lycra layers here.

As a speech-language pathologist working with preschoolers in special education, I cannot say enough good things about the Tumble Trak Cuddle Box! Thanks to the generosity of DonorsChoose supporters, our classroom received this incredible resource, and it has made a world of difference for our students. The Cuddle Box provides a cozy, sensory-friendly space where our students feel safe and comfortable during occupational therapy, speech therapy, and during sensory breaks. Many of the children I work with have communication delays or sensory processing challenges, and this soft, enclosed space helps them feel secure and engaged. It’s the perfect spot for calming breaks and encouraging expressive language in a low-pressure setting. Since receiving it, the Cuddle Box has become the most used tool in our sensory break space. Whether students need a quiet place to self-regulate, a soft area for movement breaks, or a comfortable space to practice communication skills, this has been our go-to resource. Another huge plus? It has been incredibly durable and easy to clean—a must-have feature in a preschool setting! The high-quality materials hold up well to daily use, and the removable covers make sanitation simple! If you’re working in a special education or early childhood setting, I highly recommend the Tumble Trak Cuddle Box. It has truly transformed our sensory break area and has become an essential tool for meeting the diverse needs of our students.

Boundex Cuddle Box is an amazing product. I am so happy with my purchase. My 3 year old daughter loves it. She has severe delayed speech. She seems very calm and happy. I bought it because of the therapeutic benefits it provides her.

I cannot explain the science behind this, but my autistic toddler is literally a different person before and after being in the Cuddle Box. We discovered the Cuddle Box from the office where she gets her weekly OT. At first, she was hesitant about it and wouldn't try it, but after 2 or 3 more appointments she did give it a go and she absolutely loved it. I immediately went home to look it up and was a little taken aback at the price tag. That being said, I saw the wonders it did for my daughter. I asked my husband to come with us to her next OT appointment so he could see for himself the difference it makes and I don't even think we had left the building and he said "we have to buy one". Is it crazy expensive? Yes. Will you question your sanity over spending this amount of money on a box with some "sheets"? Probably...but do it. There is some magic behind it. My daughter's OT says literally every single one of her clients are obsessed with this and they have all different diagnoses. We have our own Cuddle Box now and my daughter uses it daily throughout the day. It truly gets her regulated and loving life more...and that...is priceless.

I first saw this on Instagram from a lady I follow his son also has autism. We know our five-year-old son is a sincere seeker and loves to climb jump down. It's about 47 pounds and we put some foam blogs down below and he absolutely loves this. It's super lightweight and we can take it from room to room if we have to. It came really nice package and also with a carrying case for travel. Everything seems really well-made and I love the fact that there's a two-year warranty. I would definitely buy from this vendor again.

Luna has cerbal palsey, and was born profoundly deaf bilaterally. She is non verbal, the excitement, the feeling of freedom from motion restriction, by far the best purchase in aiding her success.
