“I was so excited to get these jeans last Feb as they initially held up to the hype- they fit comfortably on all my curves and are flattering with just the right amount stretch. Unfortunately, a little less than a year later the crotch is worn out and ripped today where my thighs touch. I was pretty disappointed on two counts
1) 00 wasnt exactly a year where I was rocking jeans that often and so I definitely wore them less than expected of pants in my wardrobe. Especially the workhorse that is classic black jeans.
) I love the ideals and values that US promotes but when the price tag is so much more and the jeans dont last a year it is defeating. I had hoped to be adding a piece to a wardrobe I am slowly building but these pants didnt last as long as some fast fashion jeans I own.
I have always treated these pants with the same care as the others, not over-washing, air drying etc. I dont know that I will be confident enough to spend my money on denim from US again.”
“I had about given up on wearing jeans until I read a review of Universal Standard and decided to give yours a look. In terms of fabric and comfort, these are the best jeans I have ever worn. The rise is hitting high for me in the size 18 but I judge a size 16 would be too tight in the calves (19") and waist (41"). I am short-waisted (5' 6" and 3" inseam) so that wasn't a surprise. Even the 18 fits more like a skinny jean on me, apart from the slight flare at the ankles, than I expected. To be fair, they fit exactly as shown on the model. I haven't washed them yet so I can't speak to that. I think I'll try a medium rise next time around if one is available. Even with those slight shortcomings, I am living in these jeans, they are that comfortable. Well done, Universal Standard.”
