I originally bought the U.S. Navy Tartan kilt to wear to my niece's wedding but wasn't able to make it. Since the 243 Navy Birthday was coming up and I am a retired sailor I decided to attend the Birthday Ball. The kilt, jacket and accessories I bought from UT Kilts all fit perfectly. I was surprised how comfortable the shoes were to wear and dance in all evening. I also received numerous compliments from both officers, enlisted personnel and civilians in attendance.

My wife & I joined other Trekkers for the First Official Star Trek Cruise hosted by William Shatner, January 2017. Several "formal" events were planned, including an Officers Mess where we were encouraged to dress up as Star Fleet officers, or other members of different galaxy species. This was my chance to pay tribute to Commander Scott, (since I'm half Scottish -> Campbell) and wear my Kilt for the very first time, received lots of complements! ... even though there were at least a dozen or so "kilts" present, I was the only one fully accessorized (at least below the waist) ... no one else thought to bring an imitation 'Sgian Dubh' on board ship .... Sweet! It's true what I've heard, there is something about wearing a kilt that makes you feel . . . I don't know -> special? different? proud about your family heritage . . . . maybe a little of all. Another family cruise this year .. bringing my kilt again for formal night ,,, trying to save up for an Argyll jacket & vest this time ... know it will bring a tear to me daughters eye.
