Highlander Gray Tartan Ultimate Utility Kilt with Comfort Waist
The ultimate utility kilt from UT Kilts is the definitive kilt in regards to comfort and function. This kilt has the most pockets out of all of our utility kilts including cargo pockets, slash pockets, rear pockets, and a secret, under-apron pocket. With this many pockets it will be a challenge for you to even come close to filling them up. However, this is not the best thing about this kilt. The UT Kilts exclusive Comfort Waist allows this kilt to go up in size without adjusting the look of your kilt. Just about every other utility kilt uses snaps or velcro to allow adjustment in the waist. Whenever you do that the kilt will not sit/look correct. You have to move your kilt to one side to get the front apron to align properly, which puts the side cargo pockets and rear pleats out of alignment (and vise-versa). Not with the Comfort Waist! An elastic waist built into the inside of the kilt that allows the kilt to expand without changing anything else on the kilt. It cannot be seen from the outside of the kilt. You can comfortably get 2-3 inches more room in the waist with our Comfort Waist (see sizing instructions below for details). We promise you will not find a more comfortable or functional kilt anywhere.

Sizing / Measuring
It is extremely important you follow our measuring video and order the size you need based on your measurement, not pants size.  All of men's pants are labeled 2-4 inches smaller than what they actually measure.  Please see our measuring video below or checkout or measuring page here.
If you measure an even size like 38 or 40, then order that exact size.  If you fall in between sizes, you can order down to the nearest even size for a snug fit or up in size for a loose fit.
One of the biggest questions that also come up about sizing is weight loss / gain.  If your waist fluctuates within 2-3 inches, you can order the size your waist will be at the smallest point of your fluctuation. When weight loss is a goal, you can order smaller.  However, keep in mind that that the kilt should only be 2 - 3 inches smaller than what you measure (3 inches is pushing to the limit. 1.5 - 2 is best).  For example, if you measure 45 but will eventually get down to a 42, you can order a 42.  Just keep in mind the 42 will be a tight fit in the waist and hips until the weight comes off.
With that said, we always recommend ordering as close to your current waist measurement as possible for the best fit.

I feel that the product is great but the customer service and return policy is what sold me on your company.

I was really on the fence about buying something a kilt. I wasn't sure if I should buy a traditional one, a utility, what to wear with it etc... I really just wanted one for St. Patrick's Day. I really like that that the waist is flexible, my advice would be to wear your exact wait and order that even with the flexible waist. I wear a 32 inch in pants and ordered a 36 and it fits perfect. I would highly recommend any of the tartan patterns, but it's just a judgement call. I don't think I will wear it outside of St. Patrick's Day events I go to, but it was a good purchase. There are some very minor tailoring issues with loose ends, but nothing crazy. I would imagine the loose ends would occur after several wears anyway. Really happy with the purchase over a traditional kilt. I am really tall, so be careful when ordering it. The kilt goes to a length right above my knees and I generally wear a 36 inch inseam for my pants.
