“This won't work on Vehicles with a hinged door (for example a Jeep). You can't open the door even if you lower the main arm all the way down. During installation, be super careful when tightening the bolts. They will bend the metal super easily and quickly. I bent mine and barely tightened it. Really sad that the metal is all warped now.”

Many of our Jeep customers like our hitch adapter because it extends the rack back four inches for better rear access. We hope this helps!

“As a rack it is great, easy to load, holds bike securely and the bikes don’t contact one another. But, and this is a big but… the rack does not easily fold down to allow a pickup tailgate to open fully. It’s close and would have been so easy to design around. It’s nearly a perfect rack but I’d get a different rack if I did it again.”

We offer a hitch extension that will give you 4 more inches of tailgate space, which should fix your problem. “This rack is amazing. For how big it is it’s not insanely heavy, we have it on a 2010 Subaru Forster (lifted) and it doesn’t squat the car much even when loaded. Supper easy to use and camp mode is a huge plus! Glad we got the “X” version as the extra space makes loading and unloading easier, it’s not crazy wide either which was a relief. Overall this is a BA rack and I would 100% buy another!”

“We switched from a flat rack because with 4-5 bikes loaded it was like pulling a camper so after much research we went with rhe VelociRAX 5X and let me just say “WE LOVE IT”! Like me, people are always checking it out at races and events and I always make sure to let them know how great it is and show them, usually letting them work it. It’s a bit heavy when loaded with bikes but not too heavy that I (53yo woman) has any problem. It’s by far our fav rack we’ve ever had and we’ve had a few! We ride/race MTB and this rack ROCKS! Can’t recommend it enough.”
