“Bought this for my husband. He’s never had a pair of Vessis before (I have 2 - my first one being the first generation style!) He now understands why I love mine so much! Comfortable, lightweight, waterproof, stylish - what’s not to love?”
“First set I got were too small, but not just too small. The footbed was not shaped like a foot. I returned them for a size up, but the shoe dug into my ankle if I tried to walk in them for more than 15 minutes. Now they no longer hurt my feet, but they’ve loosened to the point where I’m worried how good they will be for walking.”
Hi Charles,
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us, we really appreciate it.
I’m sorry to hear you’re finding your Vessis a little tight. For some reference, however, it’s actually quite normal for the ankle opening to be a little snug to start.
Over the first few wears of your new shoes, you’ll notice that the upper knit and ankle opening will stretch to accommodate your foot shape. By starting tighter, this allows the shoe to mold to your ankle shape - making sure no water seeps in through the ankle opening.
I totally understand your worry about the tightness, but I can assure you that the opening will start to loosen up within the next few wears.
Some customers use a shoehorn in the meantime, which should help. You can also speed up the stretching process by leaving a few pairs of thick socks balled up inside the shoes overnight.
“Great shoes. Super comfortable. I would have liked to wear them with my orthotics, but this created heel slip for me. Obviously not something that would affect most people. Would definitely recommend. Would also like to see more widths offered.”
