I did find the fabric around the heel a little course at first (caused me to get a blister). I also found the toe area quite tight, until the fabric stretched a little. Now i find them incredibly comfortable and light. What i especially like is how soft the sole is in it’s flexibility. They are super quiet to walk around with.

Water resistance is great! (or waterproofing) I wore it out and about in Tokyo on one of the rainiest days in recent months, purposely stepped in puddles, ran an open tap over the shoes just for good measure, and my feet still stayed dry! I’m not sure, but short of swimming in the pool I don’t know how else to test it for waterproofing. It works better than advertised, which is a pleasant surprise! However it’s not 5 stars yet because I do feel like my feet get a little warm in them, so maybe they’re not great for summer. Regardless, it is a good balance between breatheability and water resistance.

Hi Philip, We're sorry to hear you’re finding your Vessis a little tight. For some reference, however, it’s actually quite normal for the ankle opening to be a little snug to start. Over the first few wears of your new shoes, you’ll notice that the upper knit and ankle opening will stretch to accommodate your foot shape. By starting tighter, this allows the shoe to mold to your ankle shape - making sure no water seeps in through the ankle opening. We totally understand your worry about the tightness, but we can assure you that the opening will start to loosen up within the next few wears. Some customers use a shoehorn in the meantime, which should help. You can also speed up the stretching process by leaving a few pairs of thick socks balled up inside the shoes overnight. We hope that helps! Reach out to our Customer Care Team at support@vessi.com if you have any questions and they'd be happy to help.

I fit 12 sized shoes... perhaps its me not being used to "pointy shoes" but sure did a number on my feet until i got used to them... they squeeze alot. But again. I usually wear 12/wide shoes... i doubt highly it would happen to someone smaller. Id maybe say to order a size higher.

Hi Gabriel, Thanks for sharing your review with us! We're sorry to hear your Vessis aren't fitting as comfortably as you'd hoped. It’s actually normal for the upper knit and ankle opening to be a little firm to start! Over the first few wears of your new shoes you’ll notice that the upper knit and ankle opening will stretch to accommodate to tailor to your foot shape. The reason you want this is to make sure no water comes in through the ankle, and the only way to ensure this is if you allow the shoe to mold to your foot and ankle shape. In order to do that, you do need them to be tight at first and then only stretch when they’ve learned your specific foot shape. Not to worry, after a few more wears the ankle opening will have loosened up to become the perfect fit for your feet. Lots of customers use a shoehorn in the meantime, which should help. You can also put a pair of balled up socks inside the shoes to help speed up the stretching process. We hope that helps! Reach out to us at support@vessi.com if you have any other questions.

I had been looking into ordering Vessi shoes for a long time, and I finally decided to give them a try with the Cityscape Classics. I can be really picky about how shoes look and ESPECIALLY how they feel, so I was honestly skeptical. I’ve had these shoes for about two weeks now and I haven’t worn anything else. I was pleasantly shocked to find that the sizing recommendations ubder the listibg for these shoes was spot on. The support is perfect for my arch, they don’t hurt my feet after 9 hour retail shifts, and they are truly, genuinely waterproof. I’ve recommended these to everybody I know and I just ordered a pair of the Boardwalk Slip-Ons!
