“After wearing out a pair of hiking shoes exploring the recreation areas of Northern California (Sierra Buttes Fire Lookout*) and Oklahoma City (Elk Mountain*), it was time to purchase a new pair of hiking shoes for the upcoming summer.
I ordered a size 11 based on the fit and feel of my friends size 11 Vessi Everyday Move. Thankyfully the Stormburst fits like the Everyday Move did. I'm flat footed with wide feet ~ these Vessi shoes are the most comfortable shoes I own.
The waterproof feature really stood out as I've run into a few trails that were still snow covered in early summer or slipped up on a few creek crossings. Needless to say, hiking around for a couple of hours with wet feet is no fun.
I thought this was something I'd end up testing on my next hiking trip. But since they arrived right before the recent atmospheric River, they were immediately put to the test.
Flooded parking lot? No problem.
Muddy trail? Easy.
I've been impressed with the wet traction, waterproofing, and breathability of the shoe. It's also nice that they're easy to put on and take off.
I originally planned on using these for hikes only, but will most likely add them to the rotation of daily drivers.
My only nitpick is with the knit sleeve around the ankle as it's oversized for me on most occasions.
When hiking, I like how I can tuck the pant leg into it to keep ticks off my ankles or prevent the pant leg from getting wet.
I wish there was an adjustable strap or button where I can loosen or tighten down the ankle strap as needed.
TL DR;
5 stars. Looking forward to what V2 has to offer.
