“I originally purchased these shoes for an upcoming photography event in the Peruvian Amazon. However, I have already tested the shoes during the recent rains here in California and their aftermath along the coastal cliffs and rocky beaches. As a surf photographer, I often need to climb and scramble muddy, slick and drenched coastal terrain. I carry a relatively heavy camera and tripod. I have taken my Vessi high tops out on several shoots after the recent storms. I find they are highly supportive and comfortable while providing excellent grip as I navigate muddy cliffs and wet rocky areas. My feet stay dry. So far I am completely satisfied with the shoes. In Peru I plan to pair them with gaiters to deal with the bugs, and I expect that to be an excellent combination.
