“These slip-ons are super comfortable; I have a severe knee problem [brace and everything] and these shoes make walking much easier. They’ve become my go to foot ware. Thrilled with my purchase”
“Bought them while on vacation. Wore them everyday for 6 days while walking over 10km each day in the city, up and down hills and to a festival in the pooring rain. No blisters, no smell and no sigh of relief when I took them off at the end of the day.”
“So far they've been quite comfortable, just wish my big feet would fit into some of your other styles, but liking these a lot and living on the "Wet" coast I'm sure I'm going to be wearing them a lot”
“though the shoes fit length wise they are very tight, so a little uncomfortable to break in. I am hopeful that will change. they are also a little bit hard to get on even with a shoe horn”
Hi Lynne,
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.
We're sorry to hear you’re finding your Vessis a little tight. For some reference, however, it’s actually quite normal for the ankle opening to be a little snug to start.
Over the first few wears of your new shoes, you’ll notice that the upper knit and ankle opening will stretch to accommodate your foot shape. By starting tighter, this allows the shoe to mold to your ankle shape - making sure no water seeps in through the ankle opening.
We totally understand your concern about the tightness, but the opening will start to loosen up within the next few wears.
Some customers use a shoehorn in the meantime, which should help. You can also speed up the stretching process by leaving a few pairs of thick socks balled up inside the shoes overnight.
Please reach out to our Customer Care Team if you have any questions and they'd be happy to help.
“I've only used them once because they gave me pain on my soles, I think they are overly tight, maybe when I wear them more it will be better. I don't know yet if they are fully waterproof because it hasn't rained yet.”
Hi Michelle,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.
It’s actually normal for Vessis to be a bit tight at first! Over the first few wears of your new shoes you’ll notice that the upper knit and ankle opening will stretch to accommodate to tailor to your foot shape. The reason you want this is to make sure no water comes in through the ankle, and the only way to ensure this is if you allow the shoe to mold to your ankle shape. In order to do that, you do need them to be tight at first and then only stretch when they’ve learned your specific foot shape.
Not to worry, after a few more wears the ankle opening will have loosened up to become the perfect fit for your feet. Lots of customers use a shoehorn in the meantime, which should help. You can also place a pair of balled up socks inside the shoes to help speed up the stretching process.
That said, we’ll certainly share your thoughts with the rest of the team as we feel it is important to take into consideration all of the feedback we receive from our customers.
