“These shoes are super cute, but I’m finding they are rubbing on the back of my heels and are making my toes go numb. The instructions say they should feel snug, and they have loosened a bit? But I find with prolonged walking (maybe only about 10 mins) they are just super uncomfortable :(”

We apologize for any inconvenience you've faced regarding the break-in process of your Vessis. The material is designed to conform to your foot's shape, similar to how socks fit. Over time, as you wear them, they should gradually adapt and stretch to better fit your foot. It's quite common for Vessis to feel snug initially.
To help during this period, some customers find using a shoehorn to put on the shoes helpful. Additionally, you can accelerate the stretching process by placing a few pairs of thick socks inside the shoes overnight, which should aid in expanding their shape.

“They’re very nice-looking, fit well, and are comfortable. However, the ivory white felt more like bright white. This makes them difficult to keep clean, which negates the reason I got the more muted color. And the back of the right shoe has a tendency of rubbing my ankle painfully, making longer walks uncomfortable. They are good, but did not quite meet the expectations I’d hoped they would.”

I'm sorry to hear you have been experiencing discomfort at the back of your ankles from your shoes. Our ankle opening is a little firm to start, therefore you could experience some discomfort before it stretches out to perfectly accommodate your feet. I would definitely recommend giving your feet time to heal before giving your shoes a try again.
A few tips that can help, wearing thicker socks that provide extra cushioning on that area will give the shoes time to adjust to your foot. Another thing you can try doing is to insert a pair of heel liners into your Vessis for more cushioning. Heel stickers from Dr. Scholls can work really well too.
While Vessis are 100% waterproof they are unfortunately not stain proof so our lighter colours do require more regular care to keep clean. The best cleaning practices are found on the care card included in the box with your Vessis. Another great tip to keep your Vessis looking as fresh as possible is to mix some baking soda and water to create a paste then slowly rubbing this paste onto the shoe can remove tough stains without causing damage to the waterproof membrane.

As a casual/city shoe, Vessis do provide relatively low arch support. Some people love this, while others find it doesn’t work well for them. This is why we made the insoles removable so you have the option of using your own inserts for a more customized fit and comfort.
