“These shoes are really nice, especially if you add in a new set of inserts. They are now my new go-to work shoes. Just don't expect a prompt delivery. My order was over a week late, but I think that was FedEx not Vessi.”
“I bought the shoes for my 11-year-old son as his school uniform shoes. He loves them and so do I. As soon as he put them on he went into the backyard and ran the hose over them and he was so excited his socks were dry. The only thing I don't like about them are the shoelaces. They just don't stay tied for him.”
“I work in a retirement/nursing home and I needed a good pair of shoes that would keep me comfortable on my feet for long hours. I also needed shoes that would keep my feet dry in all kinds of situations. While I’m not out jumping in puddles (yet), these shoes have already done a great job at keeping my socks dry at work. “Hi, this is my 3rd Vessi so far. I love wearing them. But with this one (Weekend Sneaker), sizing was a little bit of a issue. First I ordered 9 like my Everyday Sneaker but it was very big. Then I changed to size 8 and this one is a little tight but not that much worse. So, looks like my size in Weekend and Everyday Snekars is different and I think it should be the same. Also, I would recommend you offering sizes like 8.5 or 9.5.
Other than that everything is great. I love Vessi products and I am proud to support local brands.”
“Issue:
- sizing: regular size 8.5 - 9 (boots), so sized down to '8' based on reviews and 'chat with customer service' => right side way too tight esp. as I'd hope to also wear during winter with mid weight socks
- delivery delays: prefer to see and try on sizes in person vs ordering online (like to use immediately if I like it vs waiting for delivery). Unfortunately, west coast flooding issues and busy Christmas season, contributed to delivery delays - disappointing but understandable.
Recovery for wrong size:
- connected through 'chat' => very helpful, suggested 'instant exchange' for '9' as I wanted to try both at the same time for right fit ... idea was co. will ship the next size out to try but I would not be charged if original sent back before 2 week deadline
- unfortunately ran into same delivery issue (no info on Canada Post tracking), contacted 'chat' again and customer service was able to get ETA from Canada post => new size arrived earlier than expected.
Trying them out for the past few days (rain, freezing rain and light/slushy snow):
- been a week and really happy so far- feet are dry, feel toasty with mid weight wool socks walking about in the snow ... traction ok on snow but, as expected, not so much with freezing rain (black ice)
- like the black on black sole: prefer not to wear running shoes and hard to find black shoes w/black sole (white soles look dirty and too casual for work ... if I keep walking quickly I can get away with this combo)
- convenience: was looking for shoe to wear all day during rain & light snow days without have to bring extra shoe to work; saves time as I don't have to change out of rain/winter boots when I get into work and out again at end of day.
- durability: since shoe is basically a knit, not sure about durability but time will tell (prefer leather for looks and durability but it has to be treated for rain/snow and I'm cautious about ruining them).
Overall, so far am happy with the shoes and service received - helpful, friendly and effective.
