“I have wide feet (not quite EE) and wear bulky orthotics. It's taken me awhile to find shoes that fit, typically running shoes that have stretchy material, however, running shoes are rarely waterproof. This shoe not only fits my feet in bulky orthotic but, as you know, they're waterproof. To me that's a solid combo and rare find. The width is comfy and the material is stretchy. My orthotics have a bit of a heel lift and my concern was that the instep wasn't tall enough, however, that is not the case and there is a good amount of height so that my heel doesn't pop out.
Minor issues:
- because the shoe has a woven like material it's a bit strenuous to clean, especially white shoes, however, I know they'll get dirty eventually so it's not that big of a deal.
- sole of shoe is a bit tall for my liking, but not really an issue, I'm just being picky.
- orthotics do squeak in this shoe while I walk but I don't really care too much because alternatives are a rarity.
I gave the shoe 4 stars rather than 5 because I had a shipping debacle that took over 2 months to ship. There was a shipping issues with Canada Post apparently, and even though the customer service (Jayson) was amazing, when the shoe was finally back in stock it went to other customers rather than me who had been waiting for quite some time. To give some understanding, this was out of Jayson's hands and sounded more like an internal issue. Granted that vessi is a newish company and this issue occured over the holidays I can understand that sometimes things happen. Either way, this was my experience and I almost gave up. In the end I have a pair of waterproof shoes that I can walk comfortably in.”
