“The only reason I'm dropping a star is because I feel like sizing isn't 100% perfect for me and I'd love a half-size. I bought the size 8 and I usually range anywhere from US 7-8 depending on shoe style. I think a 7.5 would have been best for me, as a size 7 would definitely have been too tight. They don't have quite the same support as the Everyday Move Slip-On (which I also bought in white and will be exchanging for black – these felt like a giant, supportive hug all around my foot!! Love them too!). I put an extra (drug-store) sole insert to help with sizing, and give a little extra cushion as I wanted these to be my "sort of cute but also I can go walking all day" white shoes for the summer.
My first wear was just a 20 minute walk. My second wear was a 20 KILOMETRE walking tour of downtown Toronto – even after 20KM walking, I only got two blisters (one along the outside edge of each big toe)! I have knee issues which I've had for 20 years, and after a walk that long, even in sports-brands sneakers (Nike, Puma) I usually have knee and back pain for days. I have NO back pain, and only mild knee pain which is a massive win for me! I am also incredibly prone to blisters on the backs of my heels and can't buy any shoes that have a padded heel cushion. I was elated when my Vessis arrived and I saw that both pairs have a slim, almost sock-like/thin fit around the heel/ankle. (I expected the everyday move slip-ons to be like that, but honestly thought these Weekenders would have a thick padded heel cushion, making me have to return them). Sports sneakers that I wore for 2 years still gave me blisters on the back of my heel/ankle– it's something to do with the shape of my foot.
I haven't got to test if they are truly waterproof yet...but frankly, even if they aren't, the sheer comfort and minimising of pain for me to go walking and still look cute is the biggest win I could have asked for. I am a total Vessi convert!!”
