“I previously hadn’t considered Vessi’s ‘Weekend’ style because I wasn’t keen on the colors on offer - I was looking for some really fresh white kicks. When Vessi came out with the limited edition Weekends which appeared to be a true ‘optical’ white with your choice of lotus green or ‘rhubarb’ (think ‘coral’ accents, I decided to give them a try; I’m glad I did!
THE ROSES: Once again, Vessi doesn’t disappoint with the quality of materials or craftsmanship. Also if you want a true white sneaker with fairly simple, classic lines, the ‘Weekend’ provides is like their ‘Boardwalk’ style, offering less derivative (i.e., a style likely to look dated) styling in favor of classic profiles. The shoe can work quite nicely as a slip-on, but Vessi made these with a lace-up system to give the Weekend a more CVO look and to allow for a perfect fit.
I also really like that these shoes can be cleaned in the washing machine as opposed to being limited to hand-washing like the ‘Boardwalk’ and ‘Everyday’ styles.
THE THORNS: Like all Vessis, these are premium sneakers and are priced like their main competition in the upscale sneaker world (Allbirds, Rothys, etc.). They are a bit spendy, but you do get good value for money. I also which the foxing was the same shade of white as the upper. I’m not wild about the off-white shade they chose.
THE VERDICT: The limited-edition Vessi ‘Weekend’ is a winner that combines classic styling with great construction quality. Throw in the fact they’re waterproof, and you have a pair of fresh white kicks you can wear in the rain and muck without fear - a quick toss in the wash and you’re good as new!

“These are super cool shoes. They're practical, but despite what other people online say, the white does NOT clean in the washing machine. I'm a little disappointed in that, but hey. If you're going to buy them for their intended purpose of being a waterproof sneaker, then I would opt for a colour other than white. They also run small, and DO NOT stretch. I've had mine for about a month, and after about an hour of wearing them, my feet hurt.”

“My 2nd style of Vessis. I loved the boots so much, ordered these just in time for summer. Very clean and professional, I wear them in a business casual environment where I’m on my feet and outdoors between buildings a lot. These are the perfect shoes for hot, or rainy, or snowy days! I’ve got some gel insoles inside with shock absorption, and I’m walking on air in breezy stylish shoes all day long. 10/10 will probably be buying my 3rd pair soon.”
