Mark, you are right. The application brush is similar to mascara. We designed the brush with longer bristles and the container with tighter reducer. This allow fast and efficient application avoiding streaking the beard with too much color as you would get with a regular brush. However, the formula is a whole different game from mascara. It does not bleed, transfer or feel chalky and sticky as mascaras do. Volt Instant Beard Color was designed specifically for beards and facial hair in our labs in Costa Mesa, CA where the product is also produced daily from scratch. Goes on with minimal fuss- quick drying and lasts. Doesn’t rub off, waterproof everything they claim it to be. It doesn’t last like regular dyes but no harsh chemicals, no itchy skin- I love it- and very very subtle. I have a very grey beard which makes me look soooo much older than I want to but this stuff is awesome- cleans up my trimmed beard to just the right amount of color.
