“I was in a pinch and grabbed a pair of these on a trip, now I have three pairs and I pretty much live in them.
The 7.5" length is great for me, a long legged but short guy at 5'8"
The stitched in liner is a great material. The quick dry is pretty quick, about 45 minutes from pool to passably dry.”
“This review is for anyone who is thinking about buying these shorts for land-to-sea activities.
I recently purchased three pairs of Kore shorts (with the liner) for a trip in which I’d be in the water much of the day, then switching to land for the rest of the day. The hope was that I could go swimming in these and then transition to active land activities, comfortably and dry. Here is my experience …
1. Liners: surprisingly comfortable and soft. Great for when I was active for my non-swimming activities. However, when I went swimming and then back to land, I found that it took several hours for the liners to dry (and I wasn’t sweating, so that wasn’t why they were still damp). If you are thinking about buying these shorts for days like this, I recommend buying the Kore shorts without liners.
2. Velcro rear pocket: I was holding onto some valuable, pocket sized possessions that would be costly if I lost, hence why I put these in the back pocket with Velcro closure as opposed to the front pockets (Why’d I trust Velcro? I have a pair of Patagonia board shorts were the Velcro is just as secure as a zipper.) Unfortunately, after going for a swim, all the contents that were in the Velcro pocket spilled out in these shorts and we had to go looking for them. I learned my lesson and now use my Banks shorts, which have zipper pockets, for these kinds of activities. In other words, don’t rely on Kore shorts Velcro back pockets for securely holding onto your possessions in water, or even for a mild jog/run. I would definitely recommend that Vuori add a zipper back pocket for future models.
3. Material: also surprisingly soft and comfortable for swim trunk-like shorts. Definitely more comfortable than board shorts.
Overall: these are great shorts for just dry/land activities in which you are not going to sweat a lot. The liners just don’t dry fast enough. Therefore, I definitely wouldn’t recommend these for swim-to-land activities.”
