“To be fair I have only used these once so far. In water 7.5 deg C. On a day where the sea was too wild for any proper swimming, more staying alive. The gloves were super warm, kept my fingers toasty for duration. This was my first ever attempt at swimming wearing gloves, and tho’ the waters were too choppy to get any real assessment, arms and face being slapped around constantly, breathing continually interrupted, even behind the breakers, I found the experience slightly clunky, tho’ I figure I could get used to it. All that delicate ‘feel’ disappears as hands become bear paws, but what you lose is made up for in warmth. I suffer from Raynauld’s Syndrome, tho’ in twenty years of sea swimming in UK waters have never wanted to wear gloves because I enjoy the ‘feel’ of water, even wearing a wetsuit. Tho’ hands are left practically inoperable for a good half hour afterward normally. I have recently wanted to extend my swims (have had to curtail some due to cold toes/fingers) and figured I’d try some socks, gloves and a thermal neoprene hat. These gloves were recommended online as probably the best to go for. They are excellently made. Seams welded, comfy, sized as listed. And when these continual storms (Ciara, Dennis) pass and the sea is left looking less like the manifested fury of Neptune having a really shitty day, I’ll be using these gloves again! Looking forward to the experience!”
