“3 stars is a decent score in my opinion. They do exactly what they say they are going to do but don’t do it at the level I’d expect for the money They dim smoothly with no flickering, they feel well built and the colour rendering is really nice. They fall short in the low-end dimming. I supplied them for a customer with a Lutron QSX system and they don’t dim to off like I would expect at this price range, they snap on/off at 5% which for the money is a shame. They were used to replace some old Bell lamps in a cinema which genuinely out performed these in terms of low end. So much so that the client rejected them and we reinstalled the old Bells lamps. I’d use these again but would have to manage the expectations of the customer in future.”
Hi Sam,
Thank you for your review.
It would appear that you have had an issue with compatibility with these lamps and your chosen control system. Not all LED drivers work the same with all lighting control systems, if one product doesn't work as well with a specific control system than another lamp, it doesn't mean that the product's technology is inferior or faulty, it can just be that that driver works slightly better with that control system. Change the control system and you might find the opposite.
We supply likes to major hotel companies, we recently did the Hoxton Hotel in Rome and the entire hotel is on a Lutron system and the same technology dims perfectly from 0 to 100%.
As you will be aware, these systems to do take some setting up, minimum and maximum loading requirements need to be met, dummy loads can be applied.
As you say, they dim smoothly, the CRI is high, they feel well built and the colour consistency is also high, so we feel they represent incredible value for money and outperform nearly all lamps on the market.
