“With all chocolate I try I first like to let it melt in my mouth and play with it with my tongue to feel the texture and taste all the flavors. I really enjoyed this chocolate, it was very smooth, then I felt the mint leaves which wasn’t what I was expecting, it almost had a grittiness feel. Now when all the chocolate melted in my mouth my tongue had a lot of the “mint leaves” on it which wasn’t a bit weird, I was pulling stems off my tongue as well. So that is the wrong way to try this bar in my opinion.
Then the next piece I had I chewed it up and that was better than letting it melt on my tongue. I am glad I tried this bar, the mint was a totally different experience all around, it was not strong but it was a more fresh pure subtle mint versus a strong in your face mint. Overall a definite must try if you like chocolate and mint and want to try something different.”
“The taste is OK, but I don’t like how they leave the leaves in. I made truffles from it and strain the leaves out of the ganache. I don’t like the idea of eating the leaves. They’re crunchy and weird all these bars had crunchy bits in them. Not expected and not wanted.”
“The mint flavor in this bar was much less pronounced than in any other mint bar I’ve had but I didn’t mind. The leaves gave it an interesting texture.”
“This was a very good and refreshing surprise. To me chocolate with mint can be a hit or miss. Let's start with the package, it opens up like a trifold envelope and seals back easily. The chocolate and mint does a delicate dance with the chocolate winning over just a little bit as the taste lingers to remind you that Chocolate is king. Very clean tasting (doesn't taste like it has artificial flavoring). Dolfin did good with this bar.”
